These three videos where all about how when you put somthing hurtfull online people will find out and be unhappy. You need to know that online gossip spreads and that what seems like alittle joke can become very harmful.

When someone is being cyberbullied the bystander rarley does anything. This is bad because the person being bullied continues to be bullied, and it just gets worse for them. Sometimes leading to suicide.

(Teen Tests Internet’s Lewd Track Record)
I think this kind of thing seems to happen a lot because of the mood of the article. It is scary how people don’t think what could happen to them if they (or a friend) post a picture or info about themselves online. On the other hand, it would be really bad for some businesses if people didn’t use the internet. If people could use the internet as a tool, then the internet would be safer.

    The Movies
In these movies the bystander is being bullied almost as much as the target, but if they say anything, they will become a target. It is a very big problem online because you can feel safer saying things like this. The person can’t hurt you right then. You can’t see their face or hear their tone of voice. They aren’t there with you. This is getting to be a problem, people need to do something about it.

Cyberbullying is when someone offends someone else online. It is very bad because you can’t see how badly you have offended them, anyone can see it and the target can’t be sure who is talking to them. People just need to understand what the internet is out there for.

I think that the article on Stokke is very horrible. I think that if people find a picture like that or a blog then they should ask the person to delete it, not copy and paste it all over the internet. I think that people who do that are not thinking of the consequences that Stokke in this case will have. She will never have a life again and i think that is very sad. This article in the washington post is very disturbing.

I think the videos on Netsmartz are true. I do know that you can never take back anything that you put online because even though you might be-able to erase it from the website, anyone can still copy and paste it and save it at anytime. And that it can be the end of your life because you wont be-able to take it back and i think that is very upsetting.

I think the netzsmartz movies had good information, but I would not give my password or go to a site I did not think was appropriate, so I thought some of that did not apply to me. But the feathers in the wind was the best because it had a very true analogy. And one last thing about all these videos is they are all based on one simple rule, don’t give any personal information away or talk to pepople you dont know!

I feel bad for Allison because she was not like the other people, she did not post pictures of herself, she was simply just fixing her hair, when a reporter took her picture. Then the reporter put it on the web not thinking about the possible consequences, or evn consulting with the stokkes family. Now Allison and her parents have to have an eye out on everyone who talks to her or looks at her picture on the internet.

wow netsmartz thing is mad creepyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Wats w/ the music (shudder). neway the one about the guys who rated the girls, that was kinda sad. i can see how that would be fun, but they never shouldv sent it out to all those people that was kinda stupid. the video about the feathers was my favorite, although it was kinda weird i liked the setting it had.

th article on Alison Stokke is sad and disturbing. its crazy how easy something can spread on the intrenet, even if u werent the one who put it on. i find it disturbing and sad that her parents have to keep a look out for weird stalkers and creeps. but then again i dont thnk its that bad of a thing, in a way its a compliment. every1 that loooks at one of those sites and says stuf is just paying her a compliment n a way, although it might be an unwanted one, there are a lot of wourse things that couldve happened. at least no one has tryd to kidnap her and sexually abuse her… yet.

I think that Dateline was definetely wrong to mispresent the current happenings of cyberbullying. That made some parents really afraid of what might happen to their kids when they’re online, but what Dateline said actually wasn’t true. It was very immature of a widely watched TV show to say something very scary like that that isn’t even true.

  14. By: Kelt on February 7, 2008 at 10:02 pm

I think the role of the bystander in these movies is to just watch what’s happening, and can’t really do anything but just witness what’s happening. Once something is posted, you can’t really completely take it off the internet. For instance, if your friend posted something inappropriate, you could see it, think how stupid your friend was to do that, but you can’t really do anything about it now that it is posted.

    Article One
    ————-
Cyberbullying is when one or more people gang up on a person online. The people who start this normally say things they wouldn’t say in public. Cyberbullying can really hurt sombody and I think its a bad thing. This is a problem because many people are being cyberbullied as I write.

    Article Two
    ————
How could anybody do this, intentionaly hurt someone and feel good about it?
That was basically manslaughter, but without anyone being arrested. And with the hoax, nobody really told anybody for a couple weeks. If you are doing this, STOP, because this is what you could do to someone.

    Article Three
    —————
All of these videos represent how once you put something on the internet you can never take it off. Also, that you can really hurt your friends or family by doing this.

    Article Four
    ————
Having somebody post a picture like this can bring great fame but also great misery. If they do this to you the wrong way and spread your picture all over the adult internet sites that’s really bad. Especially if people start sending you things like e-mails saying things you might not want to hear or that are inappropriate.

    Bystander Role
    —————–
I would feel bad for the person who got something private of theirs posted on the internet. But the only thing I could do would be to comfort them. This is because I couldn’t take the information or picture off the internet for good. Once it’s posted it will always be there.

The video where the girl posts her video online and it shows up in school on the bulleton board really shows how if yopu put a pic up of you on the internet than everyone can see it and it can never go away.

It’s really sad that a woman would come up with a fake MySpace boy, resulting in her neighbor’s death. However, I do feel that if you take precautionary steps you can be safe on the internet, and this does not happen to everyone. She started talking to a boy she didn’t know, and then agreed to be his girlfriend? Just goes to show that if you don’t know who someone is, you really shouldn’t talk to them, because they could lie to you about anything.
